Rice idli are steamed savoury cake, very soft and made up of special parboiled rice from South India. Gits Rice Idli mix brings the authentic taste of South Indian food in your kitchen. Steam the idlis in the cooker for 10-12 minutes. First add water in the cooker, let it come to a boil, then put the idli stand and cover the pan. Serve Idlis with pickles, coconut chutney or Idli Podi- a dry chutney mix.
Sambhar or Sambar is a vegetable and lentil based stew with broth, almost always consumed every day in South India. Sambhar is stapled with the traditional South Indian dishes like Dosa, Idli and Uttapam. This 100gram Gits Sambhar mix is enough for 8 serves of Sambhar.
For the authentic South Indian flavour, boil the Gits Sambhar mix with tomatoes, roasted shallots, drum sticks and season the prepared Sambhar with mustard seeds and curry leaves. For chilli enthusiasts, separately roast dry red chilli and add it whole while preparation.
